Should I insure my Digibox?

In my personal opinion, Insurance is silly. Frequently it involves a call-out delay which could be weeks, not days. It might not guarantee a same-day working replacement. Check the small print very carefully. It probably doesn't cover dish misalignment caused by wind or other "acts of God". (My window cleaner is an Act of God).

Why not spend £50 on a used (tested) Sky Digibox, dish and LNB. That way you are covered. The Digibox can be swapped in minutes. If that fixes the problem, a phone call to Sky gets the card working in it. If it doesn't fix the fault, you call out a ladder man to swap the LNB (and, if necessary, the dish).
