Sandbach CONSERVATIVES

CONSERVATIVE Councillors in Sandbach are always ready to help every one of all ages to improve their quality of life where ever the need. The Conservative run Borough and County Council, after once again retaining control, will continue to show the way forward.

CONSERVATIVE CONTROLLED COUNCILS REALLY WORK

NEW BUS SHELTERS London Road and Middlewich Road Elworth

Cheshire County Council has replaced a Borough owned 30 year old graffiti covered shelter with a modem wheelchair friendly shelter to help bus users. Plus a completely new shelter opposite School Lane

CHESHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL are now consulting with Sandbach residents on the upgrading of certain other bus stops and shelters on designated bus routes.

PEDESTRIAN CROSSINGS Middlewich Road and Congleton Road

Conservative councillors in Sandbach have worked very hard to get new pedestrian crossings installed in Congleton Road and Middlewich Road, which will enable residents to cross our busy roads more safely. Plans are also in hand for Crewe Road.

ANTI SOCIAL BEHAVIOUR

The Police have made progress in reducing the amount of 'binge' drinking and drinking in public places by introducing 'No Drinking' areas. We support this move to make life more peaceful for residents and appreciate the increased Police presence in Sandbach.
CONSERVATIVES THE CARING COUNCILLORS

HINDHEATH ROAD

Residents have complained about the speed of traffic travelling along this road, We have discussed the situation with the Highway Engineers and will continue to talk until we get results, on behalf of residents.

SANDBACH CRICKET CLUB

We are concerned that the new cricket ground on Hind Heath Road is still not ready to play cricket on. We are disappointed about the delay and hope the planning conditions will soon be met.

BUSINESS GROWTH

We are very pleased that supermarkets and large businesses have come to Sandbach creating more employment for local people, but we remain concerned that small businesses and shop owners will be able to retain their share of the wealth creation in the town. Shop occupancy has improved, which is a very welcoming sign.

CONGRATULATIONS

We would like to send our sincere congratulations to Sandbach Clean Team for their hard work in helping to keep the whole of Sandbach clean and tidy. We pass on the thanks and gratitude of all our residents. Also to the Friends of Sandbach Station for their sterling work in attaining a great improvement to the appearance of Sandbach Railway Station. Many thanks to the community volunteers and the pupils and teachers of local schools for working hard on this project.

CHESHIRE HISTORY SOCIETY

Cllr David Atkin, after living in Cheshire for 34 years, is very pleased to be Congleton Borough representative of this society, which will enable him to appreciate more the history of Cheshire and the traditions of Sandbach.

SANDBACH YOUTH ACTIVITIES

We are actively supporting projects involving young people in Sandbach including the specialist youth workers based in Sandbach who work with the young people across Congleton Borough.
